October Morning

“Oh, hushed October morning mild,
Thy leaves have ripened to the fall;
Tomorrow’s wind, if it be wild,
Should waste them all …
Oh, hushed October morning mild,
begin the hours of this day slow.
Hearts not averse to being beguiled,
Beguile us in the way you know.
Release one leaf at break of day,
At noon release another leaf.
One from our trees, one far away.
Retard the sun with gentle mist;
Enchant the land with amethyst…”
– From “October” by Robert Frost

Beautiful poem, love the asters.
Thanks.
Enjoying your blog! Lovely.
Very glad you’ve enjoyed it.
Gorgeous photos…that shot of all the Milkweed seeds is glorious!
Thank you! Actually, Judy was heading out to do some shopping when she saw the milkweed seeds and had to go back in to get her camera and take the pictures.
Very autumnal, the asters are marvellous.
Yes, they are really covered with blooms right now.
I love asters and grow three varieties myself. They welcome in Fall and keep the critters busy. Your first photo says it all about this wonderful plant.
And in my experience they are mostly incredibly easy,
Lovely shots for a lovely season!
Oh, thank you.
Robert Frost has always been one of my favorite poets; I, too, wish time would slow down a little so that we can enjoy this season as long as possible. Beautiful photos!
The closer we get to winter, the faster fall seems to pas.
